We are in the hockey stick of Moore’s Law

We’re in a new time, and we need a new way of being and doing. It’s true that technology does disrupt old ways of doing things. We are now in the hockey stick of Moore’s law.

We need a society with a structure that enables all of our people to develop themselves fully, and every human wants that. The founders of our country have written that into our Constitution: the pursuit of happiness. If we can create a country with a system, a structure that can enable people to fully develop themselves and not fight with each other and other nations, but instead work together, we really can make our life on earth a paradise. This really is a garden of Eden.

This world has enough for all of us. We need to protect it and we need to respect it.

You really do need to put your mask on first. Too many people are just grinding, trying to make things work: to pay the bills, to get out of debt, to break even, to feed the family, take care of the kids, take care of the old ones. Too much grinding and hustling. Even the criminals, or that’s what they have been labeled, are trying to make things better for themselves. They just don’t feel like they have a way to do that in a system that is sink or swim or they won’t be allowed to participate in.

We need to drop the hero narrative and realize that we are humans. We are meant to create and better ourselves. We are meant to explore and create and be in groups, families, and teams. We need a system for that. We need a structure that enables humans to develop along the path that Maslow described and for those humans to help other humans do the same and so forth.

There are so many people out there who are doing good things like cleaning the ocean, picking up trash, and finding ways to reuse materials into new ways of doing things. Those people need to be amplified, added to, joined with, supported and given resources. We are now moving into a time where technology really can do the work for us. We know that we can’t just get rich and then become comfortable and do nothing after that. We have to transcend that plateau, and we have to stop competing with each other and instead compete with ourselves to make ourselves as good as we can.

I’ve written a philosophy about this; it’s very practical. I would ask you to look at it and consider if any of it makes sense for you. I think the point of philosophy is to know ourselves so that we can create our own individual philosophies and not blindly follow others and think for ourselves.

I really don’t think that there’s evil, but people can be conditioned to be evil or do things that are not good. Some people do come into the world with missing parts like psychopaths, and maybe some of them we don’t know how to redeem yet. But even in those people who were just conditioned wrongly, sometimes they find they don’t want to hurt others, but they didn’t know any other option, they didn’t know any better. By developing ourselves authentically for ourselves and not showing off (which is completely off putting), we can show others that they can better themselves. It’s not about being great. It’s about being great to others.

I think Elon is wrong about our planet being doomed (of course with enough time, it will get too hot and we’ll have to leave). He’s right about so many things but not about our planet being lost. This really is the garden of Eden, and we have everything we need here. We can fix it, and after we fix it and we’re all working together, we can go out into space and replicate more goodness. That’s one thing I would adjust about what Elon is doing. Who am I to suggest such a thing? Well, just a human like all of us.

Technology is enabling us to create real magic. Soon, many professions like lawyers, taxi drivers, and more will be done by AI and robots. Maybe we’re just a few years from this. We have to prepare for this with a system, with a structure that enables people to create and make new things that make our lives better and our planet better. It’s about to get very different. AI is going to really change things. Really.

Our political system is very dualistic, and it’s very slow. Technology moves so much faster than any regulation or laws. Surely, I’m not the only one who’s seeing this. There are many amazing minds doing amazing things right now. These people must come together and think about what the new future for the world is. We have to get away from “it’s the US against China” or “against Russia” and all that. It’s just foolish. You can see we need the forests, the animals, the ocean and the ecosystems that keep us all alive here. All the technology exists now; we just need to assemble it in a way that we can move forward together because the ways of war and competition with each other really hold us back. We are moving into a new age where stuff like Star Trek is a real possibility. It’s so interesting how the dreams of these creators in Hollywood, stories, and novels in books have all been putting together a blueprint for us. The material is all there. We are really one big family. This really is a team sport. Personally, I think it’s a game, the most beautiful high-stakes game there is.

So many things are going change in our world. It takes so long to build knowledge and gain skills as a culture. War and destruction can erase it all in an instant. What a loss that is! Think of building a sand castle and how quickly it can be destroyed. We are still finding amazing knowledge digging into the dirt of past civilizations.

It’s time to move past that barbarism of war. No one wants that. No one wants to die and have all their special loving things destroyed. It really is time for us to think about what the world should be. I think it should be a world of goodness where every human can develop themselves without hurting anyone else.

We are almost to the point where we can grow protein and not kill animals. Or, I think we are now. Maybe the scale isn’t there and some questions exist. Still, we are getting there. Haven’t you seen those amazing cow snuggling videos? Hard to eat those sweeties.

(I love history and what it teaches but I’m sure my next paragraph has a lot of issues. Please read with the best intentions.)

Tecumseh was so wise when he saw that the Indians were decimating the animals for trade with the Americans to get the goods so that the tribes could find some balance with the Americans. Tecumseh saw that that was a system that really wasn’t sustainable and worked to unify the tribes for strength. Abraham Lincoln knew that slavery was wrong and went against the system with great cost but for the betterment of humanity. Mandela saw he could unite a nation with a game and end Apartheid. Marcus Aurelius understood that you really had to develop yourself and work against all of those base desires that can pull you into plateaus or death so that you can truly develop yourself. Krishnamurti understood that it was necessary to detach from things so that you can think more clearly about what the right action was to take. All of these great thinkers made strong moves for the betterment of humanity. Ghandi and Martin Luther King fighting for the people. They all left us incredible legacies and massively important principles. (I’m using men as examples, but there are many women, so many women. I’ve just been conditioned that way.)

We need a new way of being in this new time, and we need a structure that enables all of us to fully develop ourselves. We need to drop the hero narrative and realize that we are humans, meant to create and better ourselves. We need to respect and protect our world and move past war and destruction. It’s time for us to think about what the world should be, a world of goodness where every human can develop themselves without hurting anyone else. The material is all here, and we can create real magic with technology. We are really one big family, and this is a team sport. It’s a beautiful high-stakes game, and we can make our life on earth a paradise.

I’m not sure of the exact steps but the material is all here right now. I want to do it. So much.
